The Research Behind CALM
To understand how we developed the Calm formulation it’s important to highlights some of the key ingredients and there healing properties
The true superstar in CALM is yarrow.
(By the way, it is important to note that some people have allergies to yarrow (known colloquially as ragweed, so if you do, please abstain from using this product.)
Yarrow, the main ingredient, exhibits anti-inflammatory properties related to the content of flavonoids and sesquiterpene lactones in the material. Yarrow contains a flavanoid called chamazulene that inhibits the production of leukotriene, which causes inflammation signals to occur in the body. Those with eczema or dermatitis have a disturbance (or at least more pro-inflammatory cytokines) in the skin’s inflammatory response system. Yarrow contains a flavanoid called chamazulene that inhibits the production of leukotriene (and production of leukotriene causes inflammation signals to occur in the body).
(It’s worth mentioning that the research we sourced is in vivo – meaning in a living organism, not just a petri dish. That’s the most reliable kind of research!)
Next in the formulation comes the lavender flower, which reduces redness and inflammation – the main side effects / symptoms of dermatitis and eczema. Additionally lavender has wound-healing powers.
Next is squalane oil. In fact, it’s about 30% of the formulation. Squalane’s amazing ability to quickly, safely and effectively penetrate the skin —and bring active ingredients along for the ride.
Next sage and then spearmint join the formulation – both of which were chosen for their exceptionally high rosmarinic acid content. Rosmarinic acid is a great regulator for melanin – and if you have eczema, you know how much eczema messes up your skin color. Further, rosmarinic acid alleviates signs of oxidative stress, is strongly antioxidant and – YES! – anti-inflammatory. Rosmarinic acid helps with dermatitis, eczema and other allergic reactions including seasonal allergies
Honeysuckle has aspirin-like properties (because aspirin is made from salicylic acid), giving it anti-inflammatory properties. It can improve skin thickness, barrier functions and collagen production — that’s all good news for your skin – especially when you have eczema.
So with CALM, one can expect:
• A formulation that penetrates skin deeply
• Inhibition of inflammation from many, many angles and routes
• Reduction of redness
• Calming, moisturizing, and assuaging effects
• Faster wound healing
• More even skin tone on areas of hyperpigmentation / discoloration
I am obligated to mention that eczema is a medical condition, and we cannot say that CALM directly treats eczema.
However, for me, personally - Megan Cox - the founder - CALM has helped greatly in managing the itching, inflammation and moisture levels of my skin on my eczema patches – more so than anything on the market CALM does not burn or sting when used. It instantly nourishes, moisturizes and calms skin. Many, many customers tell us that CALM is the ONLY thing that works for them. We hope CALM can do the same for you.
Grab a bottle, apply a few drops directly to the affected area, and wait 30-45 minutes.
Longer, Thicker Lashes!
I got longer and thicker lashers without chemicals. Kristen experienced lashes that were 14.3% longer and 20% more dense. She grew over 50 new eyelashes with Wink as well.
My Absolute Favorite!
I have been using SHINE for a while and notice a beautiful difference. My skin tone is more even and I am comfortable without makeup.
REWIND is my new holy grail!
I love how nice and moisturized Rewind leaves my face using just a few drops. It absorbs completely and makeup applies nicely on top. I like to mix a drop with my foundation for a natural dewy finish.
This oil helped the red, scaly, uncomfortable eczema on my child's hands clear up within a week or so. I'm so grateful! She puts a drop on each hand every night and her hands stay clear and comfortable. I'm glad to avoid steroids and to have a product that she can safely use over a long period. I hope that it helps you, too!
Every time I find a patch of rough, red, itchy skin due to my outdoorsy or cleaning-obsessed life, I put one drop of Calm oil on it and it usually goes away in a day or two. I haven’t refilled my prescription for expensive, factory-processed creams and meds because Calm oil works better.
Normally I'd just apply hydrocortisone cream or Benadryl topically - yes that's how frequently I get these random skin irritations. I literally keep treatments constantly on hand because it happens so frequently. I applied this oil instead & while it did appear to calm the redness the itching was only mildly alleviated until I relented & applied hydrocortisone cream. The same thing happened again for some random splotch that cropped up on my left arm over the weekend. So all I can say is this oil does calm redness, itchiness etc but not to the degree of a targeted treatment like an anti-histamine or hydrocortisone. Regarding the oil itself its very lightweight, absorbs beautifully, & smells lightly of lavender. Maybe this is more for those who want to go the natural route only with limited benefit. . . . My Thoughts: My son has had a mild flare up of eczema so I decided to try this when I saw it on the @0.8l_usa app. I applied for one week as directed, but noticed immediate results within 20 minutes after applying it to his skin. In just those minutes I noticed his skin to appear less irritated and flakey, he also didn't scratch as much at it. . •Overall Thoughts: This is a great product! It absorbs quickly into the skin without too much of a greasy feeling. This is good to have on hand if you have skin irritations or dry cracked skin this winter season. I definitely would recommend this oil!
My Thoughts: Amazing little product with lots of powerful stuff in it. It’s not sticky or tacky. I would use it after my moisturizer on my red spots or irritated skin. I did notice my redness and swelling going down. I would definitely recommend this product. Thank you @0.8l_usa for sending me this product for a trial fee in exchange for my honest opinion.
