Farm to Face Collection

What is Farm to Face?

It’s our answer to “Farm to Table” – a way to take small-batch, handcrafted beauty to the next level, by becoming both the farm and the beauty company, and creating the ingredients that make up your new favorite beauty products.

Where did the Idea for Farm to Face come from?

The idea for the Farm to Face collection came about while discussing WINK’s ingredients and the sourcing process with a friend.

“To be honest,” I said, “We buy the ingredients from stores, but rarely farmers. The ingredients get distilled down through so many intermediaries that I’m not even sure if we’re getting what we think we’re getting… and that’s scary.”

“Why don’t you make everything yourself?” he asked.

“That’s crazy!”

Or was it?

I couldn’t grow castor nuts in my hometown’s climate, so WINK’s formulation was out of the question for now, but what about other beauty products? My family has been growing plants, herbs, fruits and vegetables my entire life. For the most part, we eat seasonally. Why not bring that same concept of seasonality to beauty?

The Farm to Face idea came out of a genuine desire to deliver exactly what I was promising my customers; a desire to create truly natural beauty products out a place of love and dedication.

I didn’t know when I committed to the idea, just how much dedication it would take.

How did you create the products + ingredients for Farm to Face?

Each ingredient was chosen for its researched (proven) benefits, picked at the height of bloom, extracted slowly over 8 weeks, and finally mixed together to create 3 decadent beauty products. All of the ingredients were grown organically on my family’s property, in Lawrence + Green County, Indiana.

Instead of telling you all at once, we’ll tell the story slowly – the same way this collection was created.

Over the next 8 weeks, every Tuesday, we will share a blog on one ingredient: it’s benefits, how it was chosen, grown, picked, extracted and turned into a beauty product.

How did you choose which products to make?

When I created WINK in 2013, it was for my own beauty problem. We’ve asked our customers about their most pressing beauty issues, and decided to dive into those next. The issues topping the list were fine lines/wrinkles, eczema and even adult acne, so that’s where we began.

The products we created are:

  • REWIND – an anti-aging oil for fine lines/wrinkles
  • CLARITY – an OCM wash for adult acne
  • CALM – an anti-inflammatory oil for eczema

When can I purchase one of the Farm to Face products?

The entire collection will be available for the holiday season. They go on sale here starting November 1st, 2016.

The collection is extremely limited, and once we’re out, we’re out until next season. Thank you for understanding.

Can I create my own beauty products?

Yes! The idea is that, at the end of the 8 weeks, you will know exactly how to grow, extract and create your own beauty products, too. Hopefully some of you will start your own beauty gardens next spring and have lots of stories to share with us!
